Enhance the UK’s Sexual Violence and Disability campaign seeks to raise awareness about the impact of sexual violence on disabled people. It will run between Monday 5th December – Friday 16th December 2022.

Much like sex education, disabled people are often left out of the conversation when it comes to sexual violence, despite the fact that research shows disabled men are significantly more likely to experience sexual violence and disabled women are twice as likely to experience sexual violence than non disabled people. With that in mind, it feels like an important subject for us to include in our narrative.
We have a wealth of free information on The Hub about sex and disability, and it felt right to add some content about sexual violence and discuss the topic via our social media. We hope the free resources and information we share help people to better understand sexual violence and disability and give them a springboard from which they can increase their knowledge.
