Hi! It’s Kelly again, Liability Magazine’s new beauty and fashion writer! Today I am going to be sharing my review of Jeffree Star’s Blood Sugar eyeshadow palette.

For those of you that don’t know I am an avid collector of all things Jeffree Star Cosmetics, and he is my go to, especially for liquid lipsticks! I own all three of his eyeshadow palettes but I have to say that Blood Sugar is my favourite. The pan sizes are smaller which allows more shade variety and the colours are definitely more wearable.

Reds and Purples have been “in” for some time now, and are very Autumn/Winter BUT! the great thing about the blood sugar palette is that it offers other shades to mix with those darker colours to create looks for Spring/Summer!

I’ve created a look (picture/video below) using my favourite colours from the Blood Sugar palette but I’ve also swatched the whole palette for you to see for yourselves…

What I LOVE about this palette is the PIGMENT!! All the shades are SO pigmented, so much so, they are sometimes hard to budge! Blood Sugar is expensive ($52.00/£40.00) but in my opinion completely worth the money as an investment palette. It’s so versatile and the shadows give so much colour per swipe that it will take you FOREVER to use the whole thing.

NOW, Onto the LOOK!

I LOVE creating make up looks and I am lucky that everyone in my office is used to my brightly coloured eyes and lips…so my make up, pretty much depends on my mood!

To create  this eye look I used;

Tongue Pop (all over lid) this peachy nude can be applied lightly as an all over base or can be applied heavier as a statement lid colour. It’s one of my favourites in the palette.

Prick (in crease and under eye) This is an amazing BRIGHT red, which I’ve never seen before in a palette, it almost gives a fluorescent feel and is great for Spring.

Fresh Meat (to outer V and to define crease) This is a deep red/purple and it gives a look really nice definition when applied to the outer V.

Candy Floss (to brow bone and inner corner) Candy Floss is a nice highlight shade, it doesn’t really pack much pigment but it can be layered to create a nice highlight on the brow bone or even on the cheek instead of a conventional highlight.

What else is on my face:

Hourglass Cosmetics Vanish Stick Foundation – Shell

This is my GO TO foundation and I use it EVERY DAY! Sometimes I try to use my other foundations but always end up dabbing this over the top. The formula is so creamy and not too oily and it blends so well with a standard foundation brush.

Jeffree Star Cosmetics Highlight – Ice Cold

This is an awesome highlight and the pans are HUGE! I’ve barely even dented this and I’ve been using it for MONTHS! It’s a light highlight with bluey/greeny tones so great for super pale skin like mine (Jeffree has a huge range of highlighters for all skin tones so his brand is a great place to start if you want to try out highlighting!)

Kat Von D Light and Shade Contour Kit

I mentioned this in my previous post! This palette has literally changed up my whole make up routine since I spoke to them at  their Debenhams Store in Birmingham. I had run out of the middle shade which was the only shade that I used.. so their staff advised me to mix the other two shades with my BECCA bronzer to add warmth and it worked miracles!

Benefit Bad Gal Bang Mascara

This is the only mascara I use right now because it creates HUGE impact and I don’t like wearing false lashes (mainly because I SUCK at applying them!) It’s a deep dark formula that gives an amazing false lash effect! I would definitely recommend it.

Kat Von D Tattoo Liner

In my opinion this is the best liquid eyeliner available at the moment and I’ve been using liquid liner for over 15 years! It doesn’t smudge or transfer and the brush tip makes it very easy to apply!

Jeffree Star Cosmetics Liquid Lipstick – Virginity

This pinky/lilac shade is perfect for Spring/Summer and it smells like Vanilla Ice Cream!

Benefit Browzings

This brow palette is long lasting and comes with a shadow and a gel shade to ensure precise and long lasting application. I’ve used this brow palette for a number of years now and I have tried other products but I always come back to browzings.. It’s hard to see how good it is on the picture as my brows are SO overdue for a wax (getting them done Thursday, thank god!).

SO! That is a run down of the look I created with the Blood Sugar palette by Jeffree Star, I hope you enjoyed reading/watching… Let me know if you’d like me to review anything specific for next month, and also if you’d like to see me film some make up tutorials!
