Stepping away from makeup this month (I know, I don’t know who I am anymore), and looking at skincare; because, well, if your skin isn’t great your makeup application isn’t going to be smooth and we can’t be having that, can we?
My skin type is combination; for me that means I get oily on my cheeks, my chin and the sides of my nose (I think that’s because I wear glasses), and dry on the bridge of my nose and the outer perimeter of my face. My nose is such a diva, can’t decide what it wants. Anyway, I use various skincare products morning and night, and two times a week I have a little pamper session and apply a face mask.
When I first started using face masks, probably during my mid-teens, so about fifteen years ago, I never really knew what I was looking for. My face never just needed hydration, or just mattifying, it needed a bit of both. I used to buy (and still do) the Montagne Jeunesse masks that come in sachets for approximately a pound. I’d get two that did different things and apply them to the parts of my face that needed them. So, I’d put a hydration boosting mask on my nose and outer part of my face, and an oil control one everywhere else. I’ve done that ever since as that’s what I find works for my skin. Lately, wearing multiple face masks has become a ‘trend’ and everyone is talking about multi-masking. So, apparently I’ve been multi-masking before multi-masking had a name…
Recently, I really love the Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight mask and the GlamGlow SuperMud, they’re not the cheapest masks on the market but they’re certainly bloody marvellous.
Have you tried multi-masking? What masks do you use?
