With Spring less than a month away it really is starting to feel we are through the worst of Winter, the days seem to be brighter and whilst it’s still freezing cold some days, it feels like warmer days are ahead! When it comes to fashion I really struggle during Winter as to be keep warm I must keep myself bundled up under my wheelchair blanket, so whatever outfit I’ve spent an hour putting together never actually gets seen by anyone other than myself! So, the idea of warmer days being close really excites me as I can ditch my blanket and enjoy my style more. Transitioning your wardrobe from one season to another is something I used to struggle with a lot but this year I’m really looking forward to pastel colours, midi dresses and denim jackets! These are just a few items that I’ve got my eye on for the coming months.

platform brogues

Flatform brogues are a recent find of mine and a trend that I am fully embracing! For those who can walk these will give you some extra few inches of height but for me, a powerchair user, I just love how they look and the layers of the sole. I’ve even see a style with a rainbow sole! The next item, a mustard coloured satchel bag is something I’d typically associate with Autumn fashion, but it seems that this shade of yellow is going to be popular during Spring too! Pastel colours like baby pink are still on trend for Spring though and this pastel pink cord jacket is just one of many items that caught my eye recently! I find that denim jackets can still leave me feeling cold during Spring so a cord one might be the perfect alternative, a heavier material that is hopefully warmer!

When it comes to dresses I’m a midi dress kind of girl, anything above the knee rides up when I’m in my powerchair and can leave me in a less than modest situation, midi dresses tend to sit at just the right length for me and this pastel pink and yellow dress is calling my name. I love the striped look, as well as the high neck which is bound to keep me warm and toasty. Spring is notorious for wet weather, but you don’t have to sacrifice your style when keeping dry, I recently bagged a pastel pink raincoat in the sales very similar to this cute blue one and it’s already kept me dry on numerous occasions! Finally, we have a gorgeous yellow jumper with a floral tiger design on, I can see this going well tucked into a pleated midi skirt or just paired with a simple pair of skinny jeans. Plenty of options!

I’m looking forward to seeing what trends appear throughout these next few months, my confidence when it comes to fashion has grown enormously recently so I’m excited to embrace my new-found confidence and be bold in my fashion choices!
